Terms and conditions for using the Milestone application

1. Agreement to Terms
By accessing or using the Milestone app ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you disagree with any part of the terms, you must discontinue use of the App immediately.
2. Intellectual Property
The App, including its original code, design features, and brand assets (excluding user-provided data), are the exclusive property of Milestone and its creators. These are protected by copyright and trademark laws of Australia.
3. Local Data Storage & User Responsibility
Important: Milestone is a local-first application. All data is stored using SQLite directly on your device. We do not have access to your data, nor do we provide cloud backups. You are solely responsible for backing up your data via system-level tools (iCloud or Google Drive).
4. Premium Subscriptions
Milestone offers a Premium tier featuring unlimited milestones, smart reminders, and customization.
- Billing: Purchases are processed through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
- Subscription Management: We use RevenueCat to manage and validate your premium status.
- Refunds: All refund requests must be handled through the respective platform stores (Apple or Google), as we do not manage your payment data directly.
Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the App at any time, without notice, if you violate these Terms or misuse the App.
Disclaimer
The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that the App will be error-free or uninterrupted.
5. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Milestone shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from:
- Loss of data due to app deletion, hardware failure, or lack of device backup.
- Failure of notifications or "Smart Reminders" to fire as expected.
- Inaccuracies in countdown calculations or date tracking.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes are made constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
